Youths rescued from Zahhak's kitchen
Public Notes
Every day Zahhak feeds the snakes with the brains of two youths. Two noble Persians become cooks in his kitchen. Each day they save one of the two intended victims and substitute a sheep's brain for his. Thus they rescue 30 youths each month; these are sent into the desert and become the ancestors of the Kurds.
