Iskandar arrives at a town on a mountain. The inhabitants tell him that on the other side of the mountain there is a fearsome dragon whom they placate by feeding him five cows every night.Iskandar kills five cows and fills their hides with poison and naphtha and rolls them down hill to the dragon, who devours them and writhes in pain. Iskandar's men finish him off with a volley of arrows. Iskandar marches on and finds the (mummified?) body of a great king, seated on his throne. An invisible voice tells him of his own impending doom.
