The ms.is numbered with continuous pagination, 1005 pages (503 folios). The text starts with the prose preface (p. 2) on a double-illuminated title page, and stamped at the end with a seal, which gives the date, 1053/1643. This does not necesssarily indicate more that a terminus ante quem for the production of the manuscript.
The poem starts on p. 16 (f. 8v) under an illuminated sarlauh. There is another sarlauh on p. 318 (f. 159v) with the title "Kitab-i Kaykhusraunama". This section ends on p. 887 (f. 444r), and on the following page is the beginning of the Bahmnnama, under another sarlauh. This finishes on p. 925 (f. 463r), and is followed by the final section, under an illuminated sarlauh, with the heading, "Iskandarnama".
There is thus a possibility that this ms. should be added to the group of "truncated" Shahnamas, identified by Karin Ruhrdanz: as it ends with the death of Iskandar (Alexander), and contains illustrations from other epics, the Barzunama (inserted after the story of Bizhan and Manizha) and the Bahmannama.
The ms. ends on pp. 1004-5 (ff. 502v-503r) with an illuminated double page in chequer-board layout, but no colophon. The end of the text is stamped with another seal, illegible. (Ch.M).
