Public Notes
Ms. described and illustrated by Bagher Najafi, pp. 350-51, ills. 263-67.

Previous accession no. was recorded as 6228, but it no longer exists. The first folio bears an ex libris that reads: Jalāl al-Rahman ibn Mirzā 'Abd al-Rahman Beyg Khān Sāhib. The codex paper is Indian and the pasteboard covers of the binding are decorated with floral patterns in Indian style on brown leather.

The ms contains a double-page illuminated sarlawhs at the beginning and two others on folios 9 and 10.

The illustrations are numbered in the manuscript; not all 32 of them appear to exist today. There is a leap from illustration no. 3 to no.7.

According to the Melli Library's information, the illustrated folios are: 42, 49, 53, 59, 60, 66, 69, 75, 85, 90, 103, 105, 110, 118, 128, 138, 143, 146, 157, 160, 168, 189, 198, 200, 212, 226, 235, 239.

The codex lacks ff. 39, 40, 41, 109. And f. 296 has been placed between ff. 288 and 289 in a later binding.

The manuscript has been purchased from London in 1324/1945. (SM)
