Public Notes
One folio of a 16th century dispersed Shahnama manuscript (p. 174-175, cat. no. 238). Milstein refers to another folio seemingly from the same manuscript, whose reprudction appears in S. C. Welch's exhibition catalogue (no. 16).

After investigation of the folio by B.M. It should be noted that two detached leaves from the Brooklyn Museum (75.203.1, 84.201.1) were probably also part of this manuscript, for the dimensions of the folios and the text-frames are alike. Furthermore, the style and the treatment of the landscape in the Israel Museum illustration and the Brooklyn examples are very similar for they include several planes and architecture.

Project Notes
New bibliography reference of Welch 1972 to be entered after Charles approves it. BM
