Public Notes
This ms. was acquired by Chester Beatty in two volumes, with different bindings, and with the folios very much disordered across the two volumes - presumably following the text being remargined in c. 1822 with paper of Russian make. It has been disbound for the exhibition in the Library, November 2010-April 2011, after which it is intended to put the work back together again in the correct order.

Two additional folios were exhibited, with temporary nos. Is Tf 37a and 38b, these being pages that were removed form the Library but later recovered. These paintings depict Manizha appealing to Rustam to rescue Bizhan, and Rustam rescuing Biizhan from the pit.
