Public Notes
The Salar Jung Museum and Manuscripts Library holds a significant collection of copies of the Shahnama, manily from the 17th century. These are quite fully catalogued in A Concise descriptive catalaogue of the Persian manuscripts in the Salar Jung Museum and Library, compiled by Muhammad Ashraf, vol. IV (Hyderababd, 1967), pp. 1-16.

Need all details, including confirmation of copyright wording.

First six mss. seen by AF in Feb. 2009, and pictures obtained. Details of ms. and pictures still to be completed; last two mss. added after AF's visit: need all details, including images.

Visited by Bilha Moor later in 2009, who obtained most of the remaining photos.

Charles, I asked Dr. Kausar about the copyright wording, and edited it accordingly in the Museum Record. BM

Visited in January 2012 by FA and ChM, for a day, to collect missing images and see the Shamshirkhani ms. not seen by the previous researchers. Great help from the curator of the manuscripts library, Dr A.S.Kausar.
