The British Library now holds the collection formerly in the India Office Library; these are identified by the accession no. I.O. Islamic.
The bulk of the initial recording of the British Library Shahnama mss. was done by Amin Mahdavi in the earliest years of the Project. Images were also acquired in two bouts of ordering, but not for all the mss. - some existing photography was acquired and some new photography ordered.
A considerable amount of work needs to be done on this major UK collection, which is still catalogued here in rather rudimentary form.
