The ROM collection contains one 15th-century codex of the Shahnama and several detached sheets, presenting a wide spectrum of styles and periods. The documentation includes black & white photos of each painting and data compiled by Dr Lisa Golombek, former curator of the Middle East collections. The collection was made available for inspection (30 July 2008) by the current curator, Dr Karin Ruehrdanz, to whom we are much indebted for her assistance and trouble. The codex was on exhibition at the time of this visit. For copies of the illustrations, requests should be made to Nicola Woods, Rights & Reproduction Coordinator (tel: 416-586-5590, fax: 416-586-5642, email: images@rom.on.ca), or online at http://images.rom.on.ca/public/
One of the pages initially identified as a Shahnama folio was subsequently identified (by KR) as Nizami's Iskandarnama (no. 938.39.3) - retained here for the record.
