Public Notes
A large and remarkable painting, nearly detached from the binding and curled over at the outside edge. Bizhan is in the pit on the left, with Rustam pulling him out; Bizhan wears a tree-like halter, and has a gold vessel beside him. Manizha, dressed in red, stands on the right. There is one horse and groom only, with two other horses and one other of the heroes, presumably Gurgin.
The setting is a fantastic landscape of a high crag, populated by animals and birds, partly silhouetted against a deep gold sky.
The previous rubric, on f. 218v, is set in the text of the Barkhiyas interpolation.
