Public Notes
Welch associates this painting with an unknown follower of Riza, simply a technically competent imitator (p. 122). He also however misidentifes it, calling it instead "Jandal before Sarv", cf. f. 10r.

Publication

A. Welch, Artists for the Shah, fig. 41

Project Notes
Also called Siyamak enthroned?

NB that this picture does NOT show Zahhak murdering his father, perhaps instead the previous temptation.. suggesting a subdivision of the story may be needed.
